The New York Knicks have been playing some very good basketball as of late. Under new team president Leon Rose and new head coach Tom Thibodeau, as well as some off season acquisitions, the Knicks have turned themselves from probably one of the biggest laughing stocks in this era of sports, to a team that is very well positioned to grab a playoff spot.
It’s no secret that Tom Thibodeau is changing the culture at the garden. He’s formed one of the better defenses in the NBA, and he’s brought a hard-nose tough style of basketball back to New York.
He’s also made a potential star out of Julius Randle who at the time of writing this is averaging 23 ppg, 11 rpg and about 6 rpg.
This is one of the better Knicks teams of the past decade, but the question is, can they keep it up for the rest of the season?
It will be tough, but not impossible. The injury to Mitchell Robinson does complicate things, but Nerlens Noels first couple games as a starter he’s been a very reliable defender and he’s proving he can be a solid player in this league.
So to answer the question, Yes. It’s definitely realistic for the Knicks to keep this up and snag a playoff spot in the East.
