Last night the Atlanta Hawks upset the #1 seeded Philadelphia 76ers taking the series 4-3 in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Atlanta Hawks will now advance and face the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals.
In-game 7 despite the Atlanta Hawks winning their offense struggled from time to time as Star Point Guard Trae Young shot 5-23 from the field. Despite an off-shooting night Young still managed to muster 21 points and 10 Assists.
Despite an off night for Atlanta’s Star point guard, The Capital Region’s very own Kevin Huerter was the star of the night. Huerter shot a stellar 10-18 from the field which was good for 27 points, a playoff career-high, he also contributed 7 rebounds and 3 assists.
In possibly the biggest game of Huerter’s young NBA career he shined under tremendous pressure giving his team a well-needed performance with a struggling Trae Young, and the Hawks Championship hopes in jeopardy.
All night Huerter took advantage of Seth Curry defending him as he was having his way with him shooting very efficiently. As the Hawks are moving on, look ahead for Huerter to play a vital role in their offense. The Hawks will take on the Bucks in the next round as game one will take place on Wednesday, June 23rd in Milwaukee.
