On a warm late September afternoon, Greenwich traveled to rival Cambridge to play an afternoon Class D game. Greenwich was in control the whole game and won 49-0.
Jessie Kuzmich played an all-around great game for Greenwich. Kuzmich had two interceptions on defense and took one back for a score. On the offensive side of the ball, he had four total touchdowns.
Greenwich’s defense was all over the field the whole day. They had another interception from Jamieson Parker, along with Kuzmich’s two.
Cambridge moved the ball down the field well as they only had a couple of drives where they punted after 3 plays. The closest they got to scoring was Greenwich’s 10-yard line.
Cambridge shot themselves in the foot on a couple of drives with penalties. Cambridge had 10 or more the whole game.
Kuzmich led the Witches with 111 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. He also added 152 passing yards with three passing touchdowns.
Cambridge/Salem was led by Clifford Lewis who had 58 rushing yards. Cambridge had contributions from everyone. They were just not able to break through the goal line.
