The Columbia Devils scored the only goal in the quarter-final matchup between #3 Columbia and #6 Niskayuna in a 1-0 win.
Kaiden Ring scored the lone clutch goal with just three minutes left in the game.
The Devils controlled the possession game for the entire first half. It seemed like they were just missing every opportunity they got. The Niskayuna Silver Warriors defense held strong in the first half.
In the second half, Niskayuna put on the pressure. They had multiple shots on goal but just weren’t able to capitalize.

Columbia’s next matchup will be the Class AA semi-final game against #2 Shaker. It will be played on a neutral site at Mechanicville High School, Wednesday at 4 pm. The other sem-final game will also be played at Mechanicville at 6:30 pm between #1 Shenendehowa and #5 Bethlehem.
Shaker beat Saratoga Saturday 3-0.
Niskayuna missed two free-kicks in the second half that both had a chance.

Columbia looks to win their semi-final game and advance to the Section 2 Class AA Championship game on Oct. 30.
