With a few sectional games already in the books, La Salle’s Adam Myers led the Cadets to a 53-42 upset victory over the 7th seed Shaker Bisons. Coming into this contest, the 10th seed Cadets kept their composure in a hostile environment.
Both student sections brought an immense amount of energy from start to finish. These two teams went run after run nearly the entire game.
Myers finished the game with the game-high 25 points while knocking down 4 threes to keep the Bisons from initiating a comeback. La Salle’s forward Koa Butler was the anchor of the Cadets’ defense by blocking shots and rebounding the ball. Butler scored 7 points including a fastbreak score to put his team up by double digits late in the fourth.
These two juniors were pivotal in this game, along with their teammates that contributed to ending Shaker’s season in the first round of this years’ sectionals.
On February 26, La Salle will battle 2nd seed Niskayuna at HVCC in hopes of being one step closer to the championship.
When asked how they prepare for Niskayuna, Coach Davis answered: “We’re gonna keep doing what we do, gonna gameplan, look at tape, do the things that we did coming into tonight…”
Tip-off will begin at 5:00 PM on Saturday for this Class AA boys matchup to advance to the third round of sectionals.
